Keeping Positive in Challenging TimesKeeping positive during difficult times can be a challenge. Many of our anxieties are based on the fear of the unknown. Now is the time to focus on what you do know and what you can control. Creating your own happiness is the first step! In the toughest of times there are still people who rise above the challenges and succeed at their goals. We often wonder how it was possible and if it has anything to do with luck. At Resident Lending Group we like to focus on the positive and, as we do our daily work we make every effort to share this attitude with everyone we come in contact with. James Fowler, PhD, associate professor, University of California, San Diego and Nicholas Christakis, MD, PhD, a professor at Harvard Medical School, analyzed data from the famous Framingham Heart Study. Degrees of separation matter: You're 10% more likely to be happy if you're the friend of a friend of a happy person and 6% more likely to be happy when you're three friends removed from a jolly soul. There is a tale attributed to an unnamed Native American elder: "Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog, all of the time." When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied "The one I feed the most." Building relationships with our clients to provide successful home ownerships. |
